Problems Encountered and Resources Required

Challenges include the college's rural location, which affects internet connectivity and power availability. Additionally, there is a need for more digital devices for students.

The human solid waste disposal system on campus is efficiently managed, ending in a soak pit in an environmentally friendly manner. The college uses 30 color-coded dustbins and has a compost pit on the main grounds for biodegradable waste. Non-biodegradable waste is regularly collected by Block-Development Waste-Collection Trucks. Additionally, there is a sanitary napkin destroyer machine on-site. Waste segregation charts are displayed throughout the college. We partner with the NGO JAGRUTI to ensure effective recycling of scrap paper, with new A4 paper rims provided in exchange for old paper.

For water conservation, the college employs double-flush toilets, manual control taps for drinking water, and sprinklers for gardening. Recharge pits are installed to facilitate the percolation of wastewater from hand pumps. RO wastewater is redirected to rainwater harvesting systems, and condensed AC water is utilized for gardening. Water tanks are cleaned and checked for leaks regularly.

A Red Box has been established for collecting personal e-waste from teachers and students. Printer cartridges and UPS batteries are refilled, recharged, repaired, and reused. The “Eco-Restoration and Green-Audit Committee” organizes guest lectures and awareness rallies. No radioactive materials are used, and if needed in the future, they will be disposed of properly.
